Satu’li Canteen in Pandora to Offer Unique Eats and Disney’s First Mobile Ordering

Dubbed a “fast-casual” restaurant by Disney, Satu’li Canteen in Pandora will be the first restaurant to have Disney’s Mobile Order service using the My Disney Experience app. This new service gives guests the ability to skip the line when they get to the restaurant.

Mobile Order

Build your order through the My Disney Experience app and when you get to the restaurant hit the “I’m here” button and the app lets the restaurant know to start preparing your food. When your order is ready you will receive a notification to head up to the counter to get your meal! Talk about convenience!

Satu’li Canteen will accept the Dining Plan, but if you are using the Mobile Order service you are stuck paying with a credit card at this time.

The Back Story of Satu’li Canteen

A new restaurant in Disney would not be complete with a little backstory, especially in a land as immersive as Pandora. Here’s how the Disney Parks Blog explains the backstory:

The Satu’li Canteen was once the main mess hall of the Resources Development Administration (RDA) base located in the Valley of Mo’ara. Now the canteen is owned and operated by Alpha Centauri Expeditions (ACE) tour company and has been redesigned into a beautiful museum-like dining room.

Expect a beautiful interior with items from the Na’vi people adorning the walls of the restaurant and a grill showcasing the food you are about o enjoy.

The Food: Not your normal park food!

Disney is getting much better at providing varying and unique options at it’s quick-service restaurants and it definitely shows with this one. I’m not going to explain it any better than the Disney Parks Blog so  here’s their take:

Diners start with a base of quinoa and vegetable salad; red and sweet potato hash; mixed whole-grain and rice or romaine and kale salad. Next is either with wood-grilled chicken, slow-roasted beef, sustainable fish or chili-spiced fried tofu. And the bowl is finished with charred onion chimichurri, black bean vinaigrette or creamy herb dressing.

The menu also offers steamed “pods” – bao buns with either cheeseburger or vegetable curry and served with root vegetable chips and crunchy vegetable slaw.

Sounds worthy of a try if you ask me. If you have a younger appetite you can enjoy your choice of grilled chicken, beef, fish, or tofu with rice or greens; cheese quesadillas, a steamed cheeseburger bao bun, or a hot dog wrapped in Parker House dough.

Talk about healthy and tasty sounding options! If you are lucky enough to be in Disney World when Avatar opens on May 27th be sure to check out the new fast-casual restaurant.
