Tiffins will be the newest restaurant at Disney’s Animal Kingdom and it sounds like one of the coolest I’ve ever heard of. The official Disney Parks Blog has given us more to drool about with the upcoming restaurant giving us a glimpse of what inspired the design concept and food choices of Tiffins. The coolest part about the restaurant is that it is inspired by and will include items from the people who designed and built Animal Kingdom
From the Disney Parks Blog,
“Tiffins is the signature restaurant at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, celebrating the culture of design and research that went into creating this unique park,” said Emily O’Brien, Walt Disney Imagineering executive show producer for Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
O’Brien describes the interior design as “a gallery you can dine in with artwork that is a direct result of travels to Africa, Asia and South America which influenced the design of the park.” The ideas of the park’s design team, including sketches, photography, architecture and textures, are all presented in a way that is uniquely Disney.
After reading this I’m not sure I care about the food that’s going to be on the menu, it could be chicken nuggets for all I care I just want to see the storytelling and sketches and photography that tells the story of the inspiration of Animal Kingdom. But, with a menu inspired from all the places that they traveled we know it’s not going to be your average park food!
Looks like we have differing ideas on when Tiffins will open. The parks blog is reporting summer 2016 and the Tiffins page on disney.com is telling us Spring 2016. The sooner the better if you ask me! It also looks like you can expect to spend between 30-59.99 per entree, or as Disney likes to put it, just 3 dollar signs ($$$)
We also got a little tease from the blog about the lounge adjacent to Tiffins called, Nomad Lounge. I have to imagine that this picture they left for us is what it will look like.
